As part of Bupa's ongoing commitment to its care homes, Dene Place has recently completed an extensive £330,000 refurbishment programme. Conveniently situated between the market towns of Guildford, Leatherhead and Dorking, Dene Place offers the perfect location for nursing care in extremely comfortable surroundings. Set in nine acres of stunning National Trust countryside, the house was built in 1910 and is part of the Hatchlands Estate, the family home of Admiral Boscawen. Most bedrooms have en-suite facilities and have been individually decorated, complete with co-ordinating soft furnishings. The rooms boast flat screen televisions, electronically controlled beds, telephone points and broadband access, 24-hour nurse call systems. The communal areas and the main lounge and dining areas have been beautifully redecorated to enhance the homely fee. Carefully selected lighting in the corridors creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Dene Place cleverly retains much of its original character with chandeliers and hand-carved fireplaces. The dining room overlooks the gardens, including a herb garden and secret garden, which residents can enjoy from the many seating areas and sun terrace on warmer days. Daily activities are offered and there is a separate activities room for residents' use. Personal interests are encouraged, including embroidery, painting, cooking, gardening and woodwork. Guest speakers and piano recitals are other popular events. |
