Conveniently situated within walking distance of Harrogate's attractive and bustling town centre, Southland's building dates from 1870 and was formerly one of Harrogate's premier hotels. The home has been carefully converted to offer every modern convenience yet retain much of its original character. A recent £1.5 million refurbishment has further enhanced the home and provided a number of attractive and relaxing communal areas. The former ballroom, which overlooks and provides access to the landscaped gardens, now incorporates a library and lounge area. Pre dinner drinks are served in the bar whilst the finest cuisine, freshly prepared by our chef, is served in the elegant restaurant. Southlands offers two further lounges plus a relaxing tea and coffee lounge which as well as serving speciality teas, coffees and fresh cakes and pastries, provides a meeting place for residents and guests. All of the bright and airy bedrooms have en-suite facilities and have been beautifully refurbished and decorated. Activities include flower arranging, wine appreciation, sherry mornings, arts and crafts, quizzes, concerts and trips to local places of interest. Adjacent to Southland's are a number of Bupa Assisted Living properties, which can provide maximum privacy and independence, with the reassurance of knowing that help and company is never far away.

Bupa Care Homes

All our homes offer the quality of care you'd expect from Bupa. We employ dedicated, well trained staff, to provide 24-hour care in a professional and respectful way.

Above all, each resident is treated as an individual, and able to exercise choice in all aspects of their care. We encourage as full and active a lifestyle as possible, with rules and regulations kept to minimum, and visitors are welcome at any time.

Each resident has their own regularly updated care plan. Additional services such as speech therapy or physiotherapy can always be arranged, as can opticians and dentists appointments.

All rooms have television points and safety features such as smoke detectors and 24-hour nurse-call systems. Residents are welcome to bring personal belongings and small items of furniture, and pets are allowed in some homes.

Each home has an activities organiser to provide stimulating and interesting activities, taking account of residents' interests. There is always a varied menu of fresh, nutritious food, but special dietary or cultural needs will always be catered for.

Fees vary for each home, room and the level of care needed. Please contact the home manager directly to get an individualised quote.

Why not visit your local home and find out what sets Bupa care homes apart?
