As part of Bupa's ongoing commitment to its care homes, St Christopher's has recently completed an extensive £1.2 million extension and refurbishment programme.

Situated in a residential area of Hatfield, St Christopher's has been extended and refurbished to offer an additional 13 en-suite bedrooms with electronically operated beds and flat screen televisions to enhance the relaxing and comfortable environment already offered.

Comprising of five separate houses, each has its own well furnished lounge, conservatory and dining area where residents can relax and entertain guests. A new activities room has been added to Johnson House and new quiet rooms in Bonnington and Scott houses for residents to enjoy. All houses have access to the gardens.

The activities programme offers a varied and entertaining social calendar with trips to local places of interest, including Stanborough Lakes and Hatfield Market, and for pub lunches. St Christopher's offers care for those with physical disabilities and those requiring palliative or terminal care.

All rooms have television points and safety features such as smoke detectors and 24-hour nurse-call systems. Residents are welcome to bring personal belongings and small items of furniture, and pets are allowed in some homes.

Each home has an activities organiser to provide stimulating and interesting activities, taking account of residents' interests. There is always a varied menu of fresh, nutritious food, but special dietary or cultural needs will always be catered for.
